Hone Your Reflexes with Speed Drills

Quick reflexes are critical in pickleball. They can turn a good player into a great one. Today, we'll focus on a simple yet effective speed drill that will make a world of difference in your game.

The Rapid Paddle Drill

  1. Materials Needed: Paddle, ball, and a partner or wall.
  2. Positioning: Stand about four feet from a wall or have your partner stand opposite you at the same distance.
  3. Execution: Start hitting the ball against the wall or to your partner using quick, short volleys.
  4. Focus: Aim to keep the ball in constant motion, using quick paddle movements. Try to maintain a low, balanced stance throughout.
  5. Reps: Do this for 2 minutes, take a short break, and repeat for 5 sets.

This drill sharpens your hand-eye coordination and quickens your reaction time, making you a formidable opponent at the net.
