Hone Your Backhand Roll Shot!
Hello Picklers!
Do you find yourself struggling with backhand roll shots? Today, let's focus on refining this essential skill. A reliable backhand roll can keep your opponents off-balance and open up opportunities for winning shots.
Drill: Target Practice
- Set Up: Mark three targets on the court using cones or chalk—one on the sideline, one in the middle, and one cross-court.
- Warm-Up: Get comfortable with your grip and stance. Keep your knees bent and feet shoulder-width apart.
- Focused Shots: Hit 10 backhand roll shots targeting each cone. Aim for consistency and accuracy rather than power.
- Adjust: Take note of your body positioning. Ensure your wrist snaps efficiently to generate topspin.
Repetition is crucial. Spend at least 20 minutes practicing this drill daily, and you'll see a noticeable improvement in your control and accuracy.
Happy rolling!
