Enhance Your Game with Better Anticipation
Learn to anticipate and react faster in pickleball.
Mastering Anticipation
One of the key elements to becoming a stronger player in pickleball is anticipation. Reacting swiftly to shots depends highly on your ability to predict your opponent's next move.
Drill: Play a game of doubles with the twist that players must call out the type of shot their opponents will deliver before it comes over the net. This will force you to stay on your toes and analyze opponents' habits.
Actionable Tip: Watch your opponent's body language closely. Shoulders often give away the direction of the shot, and how the paddle is held can indicate whether a soft dink or powerful drive is coming next.
By regularly practicing anticipation, you'll not only speed up your reaction times but also control the game pace more effectively. Keep alert, observe, and soon, you'll be one step ahead in each rally!
