Efficient Transition from Defense to Offense
Hello Picklers!
Crafting a seamless transition from defense to offense can turn the tide of a game in your favor. Here’s a quick drill to help refine your skills:
1. Position & Anticipate: Start at the baseline. Focus on anticipating your opponent’s shot. Stay light on your feet and prepare for quick movement.
2. Smooth Movement: As the ball approaches, move forward with controlled steps. Avoid overcommitting; stay balanced.
3. Controlled Return: Execute a controlled shot to the opponent’s feet or an open space. Aim for consistency over power.
4. Shift Mindset: As you make your return, start thinking offensively. Look for opportunities to take control of the rally.
Practice this drill regularly to build muscle memory and improve your transition game. Remember, the key is staying balanced and anticipating the next move.
Game on!
