Develop Stronger Spin Serves
Add spin to your serves to keep your opponents on their toes.
Develop Stronger Spin Serves
Adding spin to your serves can greatly disrupt your opponent's timing and positioning, giving you a competitive edge. Here's a quick drill to help you master spin serves:
- Identify Your Spin: Decide whether you'll add topspin, backspin, or sidespin to your serve. Each has its unique advantages.
- Grip and Stance: Use a continental grip for better control. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and angle your body slightly towards the sideline.
- Practice Swing: Swing low to high for topspin, high to low for backspin, and brush the ball sideways for sidespin. Practice these motions without the ball first.
- Hit the Ball: Focus on brushing the ball at the right angle as you serve. This will impart the spin necessary to make the ball behave unpredictably.
- Consistency: Practice this for 10 minutes daily. Gradually, you'll see more bite and control in your serves.
Remember, consistency and control are key. Happy pickling!
